Internship Program
Solitude Farm is offering an Internship program for 2010-2011 that will last six months.
An Entry Visa is available for people applying for this program.
The program will cover all aspects of life at Solitude:
· Natural Farming/Permaculture
· Community life
· Organic restaurant
· Food processing
· Workshops/volunteers
· Eco-building
Interns will be expected to help take responsibility for activities on the farm as they develop an understanding and experience during their stay. If for example an Intern has a special interest in food preparation they would be welcome to work more in the organic restaurant and food processing. Like wise if someone has a very specific interest in natural farming we would encourage them to help develop projects that we have started such as the documentation of Natural Farming and the planning of experimentation etc Another person may especially be interested in education and wants to explore how we can develop more in this direction. These possibilities are only limited by the Interns creativity, interest and energy. This said, however, the main work on the farm is in the fields and we expect everyone to integrate their interests with this main activity. Everything is possible!
Accommodation
The accommodation is simple and beautiful made from local materials.
There are a limited amount of single capsules but there will also be the chance to build a capsule and there is also a dormitory.
Food
All meals will be provided with most of the produce used coming from the farm, including our own millets, rice, vegetables, fruits, lentils etc. Interns will be expected to participate in the food preparation.
Transport
There are local buses going into Pondicherry and cycles will be provided to each participant.
Dates
The program will start at the end of November and applications should be submitted by the middle of September. The course will last 6 months with the possibility of taking off for two one week breaks during the program.
Cost
The cost of the program will be 650$ for the full six months. Payment should be made upon arrival for the full amount.
